Deepings Heritage – The History of Stamford Arts Centre

For our final talk this season on Friday, 10th May, we welcome back Philippa Massey who will describe how the present Arts Centre in Stamford evolved from three separate Georgian buildings. The theatre which dates from 1768 once had a perfumed fountain in its auditorium, while the ballroom was equally stylish with chandeliers to illuminate the dancers.

Philippa Massey is an experienced speaker, with interesting stories to tell about Stamford’s assemblies and entertainments. Her talk begins at 7.30 pm in the main hall of the Community Centre, Market Deeping. Everyone is welcome. Admission £3.
