Fenland Heritage Network

The Network last met online on Saturday 25th September 2021 when it was announced that the new website had been launched along with the Facebook page. This really gives us the opportunity to publicise our member organisations as well as post details of events and activities.

Please send through any information on your organisations with contact details, a logo and a description about what you do to be loaded onto the site. Hopefully this will enable us to attract new members , volunteers and visitors as well as promoting the heritage of the region.

In August and September the Network held a series of online ‘Introduction to Social Media’ training workshops led by Lorena Hodgson of Red Barn Creative. Fifteen people came along to the workshops that focussed on the use of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for heritage groups. If you have any ideas regarding other training you would like to see the Network provide let me know.

Longer term plans for the Network (post-pandemic) are to hold joint events to share information about role of the different groups and to showcase our collections and our projects. Ultimately it is hoped that the Network and this website can become a vehicle for collaboration.

The next meeting will be online in December moving away from a Saturday to a weekday evening – 7pm on Tuesday 14th December 2021. The Zoom link details will be emailed directly to member groups as well as being published on the website.

I look forward to seeing as many people as possible.
