Vindolanda and Magna – Two Sides of a Frontier in Transition

The excavations of Vindolanda and Magna are tied to their complicated past but also through the very modern challenge of the impact of climate change on the preservation of archaeological landscapes. The work of the Vindolanta Trust has made some remarkable discoveries, but it also reminds us about what may be lost if we cannot preserve sites in situ for the benefit of future generations.
