Romans in the Nene Valley
A Talk by Professor Stephen Upex

Our knowledge of the Roman presence in the Nene Valley and the Fens greatly relies on archaeological exploration. Although the archaeological record is far from complete, with new discoveries being made every year, more than enough is known to paint an accurate picture of the Roman presence and Professor Upex is the recognised expert on this area of Britain.

Stephen is a Tutor at Madingley Hall Cambridge, in addition he lectures widely within the UK, and works as a freelance archaeologist and consultant. He is a member of the Institute for Field Archaeologists and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and has published several key books. His book “Romans in the Nene Valley” will be on sale at the talk.
